Applicants need to file an Undertaking of Assistance (Sponsorship Application) to Case Processing Center, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) for admission of an adopted child from a foreign country into Canada. |
CIC will request a Letter of no Objection from Ministry and will forward the Sponsorship file to the appropriate Canadian Embassy, Visa Office. |
Ministry will issue a Letter of no Objection and send it to the appropriate Canadian Embassy with a copy to the adopting parents and one to the licensed agency. |
An application for permanent residence is sent to the adoptive applicants for completion on behalf of the child. |
The child must undergo a medical examination by an Immigration designated medical practitioner (DMP) in the child’s country prior to the finalization of the adoption in order to determine whether the child is medically admissible. |
If the child is medically admissible upon notification that the adoption has taken place the Visa Office verifies the adoption and travel documents and issues an landed visa to the child. |
